Hello!
I have tried many times to get to a conclusion on how to judge the tonewood I buy.
Most of the time I get lost in theoretical readings (mostly from journals, papers, etc), that even if all make sense, I do not find them practical.
Very interesting was the Meyer's , practical approach to the choice of tonewood and it was someway practical.
I do not have lucci meter and since I go to the supplier, how can I select fast and practical tonewood (except the aesthetical part)?
I have not understand also the tap tone theories for tonewood selection.
Is measuring sound speed the basic indicator for selection?
(I am interested in selecting mostly maple, spruce, ebony)
Thank you!
