Hello!
I have recently bought an Ali Khalifa oud from 1969. It needs some repair, but otherwise it looks ok.
It has a label, but it looks very simple and not as later labels from the maker. Is it a fake? Does anybody know why the label is so simple?
Kind regards,
Viktor

It seems that the riddle is solved. The oud has been repaired once upon a time and the original label was probably damaged then. The luthier replaced
it with a written note.
It makes, of course authenticity problematic, but why make a simple note if it is fake? For a fake, it would have a brand label (fake of course). The
oud itself has several visible signs of being a Ali Khalifa oud.
But it's a shame the original label was replaced of course. Hoewer, the little note gives an extra history. And that is of course nice.
