Hi guys, hope you're all well. Daniel here from Ethnic Musical.
If you're after a solid instrument, that will hold years, comfortable to play, and has that nice warm earthy sound. Look no more, Zeryab Ouds, are a
great first Oud or an upgrade from an Egyptian oud.
We've been selling Zeryab Ouds for the past 6 years, and customers are very happy. I wanted to share with you some details about the 'behind the
scenes' and what the Ouds go through, before being shipped out.
The setup process
Nut lowering. Getting the from the workshop, Zeryab ouds come with rather high nuts. That means that it hard, almost impossible playing them. We
are sanding the nuts to lower the nuts in order to get a nice comfy string's action.
Respacing the nuts. Sometimes, Ouds are arriving to us with uneven spacing. For example, the 2 F-F strings can be sometimes too close to each
other. We make sure to do the spacing correctly so there are no buzzing or issues
Trussrod tuning. Started already in the Sukar era, today's Zeryab ouds come with trussrod built in. However, that requires some knowledge how to
tune it correctly. We deliver each oud with a perfect string saction.
Pegs sharpening. The walnut pegs that come with Zeryab Ouds are great. However, in Syria they lack the right equipment to rim the hole and
sharpen the pegs. We make sure to bring each peg to a perferction. We also offer upgrade to Ebony pegs (contact us before purchasing if that intersets
you).
Strings replacement. As we receive the ouds "naked", a fresh set of German Pyramid strings is installed on each Oud. That ensures a great timbre
and accruate sound.
Please remember, we ship all of our Zeryab ouds with EMS. A door-to-door service. Delivery times are about 10-14 days at the
moment.
