Today I found out that Damascus Opera house has digitised some old recordings of Jamil Owais and Ali Darwish that were made between 1920s-1950s.

Very cool recordings, thanks for sharing. Wondering if there's any more information about the compositions.
The Bashraf Farah Faza is by Ismail Hakki Bey (interesting use of harmony in their performance), and the Samai Nawa Athar is by Jamil Owais. I don't
recognize the other pieces in the Owais recordings, curious if they were composed by him.
