Enjoy this up close and intimate encounter with ostad shahram gholami, one of Irans best Oud players. One of my personal favorite musicians on the
scene today as well. Notice the lines on the oud's neck that mimic the look of frets, but arent placed where the notes would be. Interesting design
here all around. And the music itself is both steeped in tradition and exploring new techniques on the instrument. Immerse youself in this beauty for
the entire video and you'll see what i mean. be salamati!

Thanks for sharing, Chris. He is indeed of the best.
His instrument is likely made by Nariman Abnoosi.
My former oud instructor, Ali Pajouheshgar (who also studied along with Negar Bouban and Shahram Gholami under Mansour Nariman) has one of these ouds
too:

Fantastic musician, always a joy to hear. Iranian oud is such a rare treasure, glad these torch bearers are still here. Happy to see hes got his own
youtube channel, and this Khonyagar is another great channel! Thanks for that!

I love Haftdang.
Nariman Abnoosi was the best Oud maker Iran has ever had. I remember Najib Shaheen restored one and posted a video of it on YouTube. It sounded
killer.
He also had good things to say about the maker too.
