Yemeni-born musician, Ahmed Alshaiba, famous for his oud renditions of international hit songs has died in a traffic accident in New York, the
musician’s brother confirmed. A self-taught musician, Alshaiba gained widespread fame for his covers of hit songs including Ed Sheeran’s “Shape
of You,” Michael Jackson’s “Smooth Criminal,” and the theme songs of shows like “Game of Thrones”. Alshaiba, who was in his early
thirties, has performed for the likes of Hillary Clinton and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. In addition to his solo arrangements and covers,
Alshaiba often collaborated with international artists, created tutorials on how to play the oud and composed original music. |
