Hey all,
I'm fresh off the 3rd show in a row where my oud has been inaudible for one reason or the other. For the first two, my amplification was simply
insufficient (direct into house system - could not / did not boost enough to match the other instruments). On the 3rd, I could not boost sufficiently
without aggrrssive feedback (i also used a preamp). On this 3rd show I also used a small microphone suspended on a lavalier, which i believe may be
especially prone to feedback.
I'm sure Im not alone here. Please kindly send advice and perhaps sympathy!

this is not going to be an expert answer but i have noticed that the oud drowns out very quickly when you play in an ensemble. the sound mixing guy
has to be made aware of this. it can be done even when you use normal microphones, but an easy fix without feedback would ofcourse be a piezo mic
underneath the saddle or glued to the bridge
