hello fellow oud-lovers!
I can't yet afford to buy an oud, but am trying to satisfy my longing with more good music.
I'm looking for music akin to Rabih Abou-Khalil's "Yara". I absolutely love the combination of oud, cello, and frame drum, and would like to find more
like it. I tried a Simon Shaheen album, but didn't like it quite as much as Yara.
Is there anything else out there like it?
If it helps narrow things down, my favorite instruments are oud, duduk, cello, erhu, tablas, and frame drum.
Thanks in advance for any suggestions!

Abou-Khalil has a similar album called "Arabian Waltz" (with string quartet)
You might also try some Anouar Brahem albums, especially "Thimar", "Le Pas du Chat Noir" and "Astrakan Cafe"
Also, Samir Joubran's "Tamaas" is very good.

Thanks for your suggestions, Brian.
I've been listening to samples at Amazon and do like Anouar Brahem's work a lot (though I could do without the sax), and Samir Joubran sounds quite
nice as well.
By the way, hopefully I'll be in your town May 21st for the WMI concert!
