The ouds made by Haluk Eraydin are not "tourist Ouds low quality ouds. at high prices."
There are several forum members who own instruments made by Mr Eraydin and they have regularly praised the quality and playability of his instruments.

Sorry but I did not say anything about his Ouds I just said all these Ouds sold in many stores are Tourist ouds .Thats what I ment, I like Haluk Eraydin and his Ouds ,But he did not say that his Ouds are there, he just told him where he can find a Oud in one of the two locations ,I am not sure that he sellds his products here to any dealer.....Regards Samir, California

PS you can read here in the forums where someone wrote one time that he went shopping in the San Francisco area to LarkInthamorning and other stores and he was disapointed of the bad quality of ouds, he mentioned that he did not find one Oud that did sound good as the Ouds looks so good in the oictures,That was a real allert to me not to buy from any site here in the USA....Looks great and quality ZERO, My teacher was telling me he was trying to tune a brand new Oud of one of his students and sudenly he herd a boom , The Bridge flew in to his face,He just tried to tune the first string. So I will be aware of buying anything unless I was an expert ,and I am not sure if this guy here looking for a Oud is going to pay $1500 and get a quality Oud.Do you agree with me ??Well just an advice that is his money,I hate to see people geting ripped Off. People work hard for there money and I think that they should get a quality OUD for the price they paying.

Also..? Naifitto
Are you looking for a Turkish or a Arabic oud?
If you get a Turkish oud from Haluk.. You will get what you pay for and more... from what I hear no body has been disapointed from buying his ouds. and no body beats his prices.
If you get a Arabic oud. Try contacting Maurice Shehata he carries high quality arabic ouds.
Regards.
Samir

If this is your first oud, don't think for a second that you have to spend a ton of money for it. Haluk's low end oud, with shipping, comes to less than $400, I think, and it has gotten good reviews, although I have not personally played it. There is a a disadvantage to buying ouds by mail, of course, but I think that for most of us living outside of the middle east, it is an option that we have to consider.

In fact it is so hard to buy an oud by mail and its not logic!!
