Hello people I noticed the kennedy centre added 2 performances of middle eastern music.
First there is a presentation of Music in Egypt from nubia to cairo along the different ages. Verry interesting music and the band is quite good. The
Oum koulthoum impersonator is quite convincing. Obviously at the end she comes back on stage to perform even if the show is "over" according to the
producers. And you see them runing around trying to tell her its over.. funny sight.
The other funny sight is the part where at the end there all fighting over who can sing the loudest "to steal the show" and you see one singer nuging
the other singer cuz he sings stronger then him and everyone else. Funny again.

Another performance by the chicago classical middle eastern ensemble. It features Yair dalal and Naser Musa on oud and its produced by Kareem
Roustoum and Hicham Chami. Can anyone tell us what kind of oud is Kareem playing is it a shehata or a sukar? Iam not shure

Hi - Thank you so much for posting these. I managed to see much of the second concert yesterday. Quite impressive... and talk about value for your
money! A whole hour of music, I only got half an hour in so far ...
If I'm not mistaken, the conductor for the Chicago group is also a very proficient kanun player.... I had sort of been looking forward to hearing him
on that instrument, but it seems he concentrates on conducting for this performance. Oh well, maybe next time...

Yeah these videos are fantastic. Thanks samir for posting them. I only got a chance to watch the first one. Does anyone now if its possible to order
these concerts on DVD or something. Also, if anyone knows how to capture this audio on mp3, please tell me how. I know how to convert the entire
concert to mp3 but I don't know how to split it into different songs.
