I notice that the top is flat on the insode, so any pressure on the oud will be directly on the bridge. There should be some raised or padded areas to

Where does one find those form fitting hard cases. I saw one for sale on ebay but it was from austrialia and the shipping was a high amount. Are

I have that rectangular hard case and I wasn't too impressed with the quality. You would expect such fine attention to detail in the ouds would
carry over to the case. I have the same problem that Dr. Oud mentioned. Also, when I set the oud down in the case, it sits on the tip of the peg box
becuase the support for the neck is not raised high enough. I haven't had the time to fix this but I need to get on it. I believe al aseel makes two

Thanks for the advice. I like to use a soft case when travelling (not by air, just in the car) because it's not so huge, but prefer a hard case for in

Hello, I thought I would give my opinion on the cases. I have the 'form fitting' one that I actually bought off of Mike. I can only assume that it
is a Shehata case. I love it. It is really heavy, but very safe. It has taken my oud all over the world, and I always check it in as baggage on

The artist formerly know as syrianoud sent me his case. its not bad (considering it was free.) As for the neck support. I layed some pillow cases
or linen under the neck and it lifted it enough to be supported well.
What I think would be Good Idea is a buckled restraint strap to keep the oud in place during bumpy trips. Probably somewhere on the findgerboard
where the tension on the strings would not be signifcant.
