I asked Mike about the same thing. Mike is using movie maker. It does not support all formats.

Rami, there are several software players that will slow down the speed of video when played back. What is the format of the video at present? i.e avi,
mpg, mva, mov.

There are several full-on editing applications that will allow you to slow down all kinds of video files, but the files must be rendered. You need one
that just allows you to play back the files at reduced speed, without rendering.
I don't think you can slow down real media video files in this way. You will probably need to download a shareware converter to get the files to
mpeg-1. Once they are in that format, there are a few cheap shareware mpeg-1 editors that have the capability that you require. The best I have found
are "VCDCut Pro" from Jiao Systems and "MyFlix" from Mediaware Solutions. However, it seems Mediaware is now targeting the broadcast market and may
have dropped this product (MyFlix). It is (was) the best of the bunch for handling MPEG-1 files.
I am the co-developer of a sports analysis software application that also uses a MPEG-1 player engine with speed variation capabilities. If this is
somethng that a few people want, I will check with our software guy to see if he can knock together a free standalone version.
Don't forget that the pitch of the sound will change when you slow down the video play back.
