Hi everyone,
I need to fix some pegs that are alternately too tight or too slippy. Can anyone recommend a good repair person in the SF/Oakland area?
thanks,
Tom

any violin shop can help you, you might just need some peg dope, which you can get from the violin shop.

Pearooster music on 14th st and noe in sf

dr. oud is right, if its just peg dope u need u can do it yourself. Id only go to a repair shop if u want them to replace ur pegs.

Dear Tom,
I repair ouds, and am in San Rafael, CA. Lots of folks here know me. You are welcome to stop by and let me look at your oud. Give me a call at 415
492-0728. Indeed, you may not need any work at all---and I certainly don't need extra work. I'd be happy to show you what to put on the pegs. BTW,
"peg dope" for violins doesn't always work right for ouds, as sometimes the pegbox (or even the pegs) is made of a softer wood than violins are made
of, and it can make them too slippery or too stiff. If you like, give me a call and we'll arrange a time.
Best,
Hank
