what a peach! looks and sounds absolutely fantastic - crisp and full bodied at the same time. compliments to you on your playing as well ... what a treat to hear precise, well rounded chords on the oud.

Whats the significance of having the pickguard off to the side like that? I doesn't seem like it serves its purpose of protecting the soundboard.

zalzal - 4-13-2006 at 11:22 AM

It is probably a suit-made oud specially built for the arm and forearm lenghth of the customer. It makes me wonder whether, if this is the case, the inside soundboard is also specially conceptualized to take into account the position of the pickguard....or there is not relation at all, when building an oud, between the pickguard and the inside soundboard.

riadh.3oud - 4-13-2006 at 11:31 AM

dear Rivaldo
the pichguard is is not made to protect the side of playing(I not need )..but to play of the ' golpe' to the manner flamenco (blow on the sounding board)

riadh.3oud - 4-13-2006 at 11:37 AM

I commanded this from the maker..
i send you sound file toexplain utility..

riadh.3oud - 4-13-2006 at 11:51 AM

hé friends..look at the pickguard..the form like oud..
the form of growing..it's very oriental!! ...i think....

riadh.3oud - 4-13-2006 at 12:31 PM
