I am sure that there must be somebody out there that can help me with this. Did Karibyan have apprentices? Are there current oud makers that
learned their craft from Onnik Karibyan?
When Karibyan died in 1976, what became of his shop? More intriguingly, what became of his moulds, his tools?
Incidentally, I just became aware of an Onnik Karibyan from 1915, and possibly one from 1910--this guy might have been born a bit before the 1900
birth date that has been attributed to him.
Thanks.

As far as I know He did not have anybody as an apprentice. However some people wisited him to ask somethings about instrument making. I am one of
those people. He did not tell me much!!

Thanks, Dincer.
I would have to think that at the very least, a luthier in the area might buy someof Onnik's tools, moulds, etc. To me, that would be a pretty
amazing thing to have.
Perhaps apprenticeship was more common a hundred years ago than it is in the present day. It seems like a loss, because in some ways the craft has to
be learned over again "from scratch"
Again, thanks for the info.
So, does anybody know what became of his tools and other artifacts?
