Hey guys,
One of my bands, 3 Mohammads, will be performing on June 1st at the Stork Club in Downtown Oakland (on Telegraph btw. 22nd and 23rd).
Show starts at 9PM, we will be performing improvised free jazz-oriented music. The band was formed when an Arab-American filmaker Nasri Zakaria
commisioned me to score his film "Tale of 3 Mohammads." We work as hard as possible to clash traditional Palestinian and Arabic folk elements with
free-jazz and improvised music.
Band Members:
Tarik Kazaleh (me, aka Excentrik) on Oud and Electric Guitar
Josh Allen (former tenor player for Cecil Taylor, Marco Eneidi, Weezle Walter Quartet) Tenor Sax
Timothy Orr (former director of the Brubek Institute) Drums
If anyone lives in the Bay area, it should be an interesting night.
door is $5, 21/up, it is a club, there will be alcohol consumed and sold...
Thanks Guys, hope to see you all there!

Hi Tarik,
I will not be able to attend this performance (daddy duty, etc.). Are you a serious oud player? I live in Berkeley and am always looking to connect
with other serious Middle Eastern musicians. (I am a former jazz guitarist and composer myself).
You can e-mail me at: shalomsalaam01@hotmail.com
Have a great gig!
Best,
John
P.S. I tried playing free jazz once on the oud; it was kind of fun.
