Hey Najib, I have a Baytar oud as well! I'd really like to know more about this maker, since I couldn't find anything on the web about him. Can we
hear a soundclip of it? Play it om good health...this is the picture of mine.
Salam aleikum, Giuseppe from Italy.

Georges Bitar is in his early fifties his phone number in Lebanon is:
+961 3 237 137
I share it here because it's written at the back of the Ud. Not that I share personal information about people ususally :-)
I am trying in vain to attach a sound clip.
What is the limit of attachments sizea here?Greg - 6-1-2006 at 05:15 AM

Hey Najib,
That was very very nice. I think you are inspired a lot by Saliba al Qatrib. Way to go my man.
Take care,
Mikemjamed - 6-2-2006 at 09:05 PM
hello Najib,
Could you post a sound file for your oud but without any effects on the wave? It doesn't have to be long it could be very short. but the purpose here
is to hear how the oud sounds.
What's the range of prices for George Bitar's ouds?
Thanks Mike
Najib - 6-3-2006 at 12:49 AM
Hi Mike,
Well spotted, of course after listening to Saliba's version no can play Semai Aryan the same again :-)
I'm also proud to say, although I've never met him, that he is a distant relative of mine. My mum's cousin is married to his sister!
My parents, especially my dad (a church singer), met him a lot, and they held a lot of mutual admiration.
Also dear mjamed, I didn't add any effects on the wave, but I had to compress it a lot, I'll try to add a short clip later on this week.
Bitar's range is definitely cheaper than Ghadban's. I got this Oud for around 800 dollars 5 years ago.mjamed - 6-3-2006 at 02:00 AM
