Dear All,
For anyone in the NYC area
Simon Shaheen and his groups Qantara, The Near Eastern Music Ensemble, and his String Quartet will be performing at Joe's Public Theater on
Monday, January 12th in conjunction with the Association of Performing Arts Presenters' Annual Conference in New York. Shaheen is this
year's chosen Artist Voice for APAP.
Also joining Shaheen, for the first time, is the legendary Armenian Duduk master Djivan Gasparyan.
Shaheen, a Palestinian composer, and internationally celebrated virtuoso of the Oud and Violin will perform selections from his original compositions,
and
works of other Arab Composers. With his ensembles, Shaheen will be showcasing his seamless melding of traditional Arab, classical, and Jazz musical
styles.
The showcase will be attended by Performing Arts Presenters from around the USA. We encourage the lovers and supporters of Simon Shaheen's music
and art to show their support by attending the showcase.

Hey Alan,
Looks like Simon and Marcel are performing at the same event. That is very cool. Too bad I live all the way on the other end of the county.
Take care,
Mike

Is there any way that someone could videotape it and get it up on the forums? Just a small clip... it's unfortunate to be deprived of such great
music just because of distance.
