Hello, my name is Brian Gehshan and i have recently found this oud in the garbage dumpster a work. i know it is Turkish made and it was made in 1991.
as much research i could find and i think Mouhamed Fadel Husein made it. here are a few pictures of it. It is in pretty good shape, the only thing i
see is a few scratches and 2 tuning pegs are missing. I am just looking for info on this. it also had a price tag of $650 on it.

Yah...
the oud is not Turkish but Syrian.
Its made by Mouafaq Khalife as you can see his name is on the main rosette and on the label.
I dont see a date on the label, but It is of no real importance as this type of ouds dont gain much vallue with time.
Generaly speaking these ouds are made for beginers and people that cant afford to pay a large sum for a oud. In the US they would go for around 300$
on average. Verry nice find though! like marina says its a nice peice for decoration. You could even play it if you wish.
But with this oud Iam affraid its not the case of someone throwing out a valuable original Mohamed fadel Husein (who is an Iraqi... so its weird that
someone would think its turkish on top of the oud looking nothing like turkish ouds)
enjoy it none the less.
thank

Thanks for the info, i still can't believe it was just sitting there in the dumpster this morn. I was thinking of getting it set up for me. My brother
is a guitar collector and this would look good in set.
Does anyone know why it would have a tag of $650 when it only worth #300. the date i think is 1991 which i can see on the inside
