Hi guys, I need knew strings, and I was wondering if anyone knew if the D'addario J95 11 string set was intended for turkish or arabic ouds. I
was looking at the tension and some hit 60-80N.

They are intended for turkish, but many, and I mean many use them for arabic tuning. For arabic tuning, they are considering to be higher tension
than Pyramid. For my 60 cm string length oud, the highest tension reach to 39 N, and the lowest to 22N (that being the g). Actually the tensions are
similar to Pyrmaid orange, at least the wound are. The nylons are a little weaker.
The tensions you mention 60-80, is for some crazy reference tuning they use on the package (a much higher tuning than the turksih turkish), for a 59
cm string length
Actually for the price, $12 they are a great set of strings.

Both my teacher and I use them on both Turkish and Arabic ouds with great results. You can use them without fear.
My teacher thinks they are the best you can find here, with La Bella being #2, but of course opinions differ.
