Yes that's me...with my Foad Jihad oud. I bought this oud through Ronny last year but unfortunately cracks began to develop in the pegbox and it is
currently in the hands of Melbourne based luthier Ian Watchorn, whose in the process of making a new pegbox. Ian is an experienced maker/restorer of
European lutes and restores period instruments for museums and private collectors.

Welcome to the forums Sam, and thanks for your nice comments about the site. We are one big happy family here...most of the time.
You are lucky to have a Fouad oud. I really like his ouds a lot. Last thing I heard was that he passed away recently. Maybe Ronny can confirm this.
By the way, I lived in Melbourne for about 6 and a half years...from 72 to 79. All I remember is playing cricket with the neighborhood kids.
Best,
Mike

Thanks guys... Yes the oud has a nice sound....typical bashir sound I guess. Hopefully with time I'll learn to post an audio clip. It's sad to hear
Fouad passed away, truly an Iraqi oud great.
Mike - I remember you telling me about living in Melb. We had some correspondence early last year regarding Mo's ouds - nice to be in touch again -
