Ibrahim Hajjar taqasim and more

I found this clip on my computer by accident. I must have downloaded it from somewhere a while ago. Sounds great though. I've never heard of this person. Any info?

Jameelo!

I'm not sure if it's the same file or not (I didn't download it, but have a waslah followed by el ward-JAMEEL by the same singer in the same maqam with a taqsim in the beginning). Somewhere in the taqsim, someone says that the recording is of Munir Bashir or something, which is a total misnomer. We should ALL be able to recognize the player at this point.

As for the singer, I believe he's the father of Ali al-Hajjar, which is a better known singer. Knowing that, I'm sure others can provide you with more information than I possibly could.

If it's the file I think it is, it's a must have!

Im almost positive the oud player here is George Michel.

The mention of Mounir Bashir, is with reference to the oud that was used, someone is heard saying something like, '... using Mounir Bashir's oud ....'.

Thanks very much, Jameel, for this astonishing piece.
I loved every second of it. The taqsim at the beginning is mind-blowing!:buttrock:
I think the narrator is the one of a tunisian tv series which examine each
episode amazing pieces such as this one and he goes on and on about it...wish I'd understood Arabic (i can't believe nothing of my parent's native Moroccan Arabic have stuck with me...:() even though he only have half hour a day or so,
it sounds like quite the informative series.

That song - Yashani Al'chan - I just loved that song when we had learnt it
(in the hebrew words written over it) and repeated it over and over
and it has never lost its sweetness.

once again, thanks for such a great piece! :applause:
