We started to make Walnut bowled oud-3 professionals a month ago.
We used Spruce wood from high mountains of Black Sea area,east of Turkey,for sound boards.
Fingerboards are Rosewood,rossettes Maple.
Pegs are quality Ebony.

Hey Haluk. Does the walnut allow for a deeper and darker tone?

Yes,William,Walnut oud sounds as well as Walnut-Mahagony combination oud and weight of Walnut oud 1.040 kg. with Ebony pegs,lighter than other woods
combinations.

We stopped to make lavta because of too much electric saz and oud orders.

Oh okay. It seems that the lavta is falling out of popularity in the Turkish music seen.
