Faruk Turunz “Grand Concert” model Turkish oud for sale $1300.00.
Face: spruce
Back: walnut
Pegs: ebony
Rosettes: bone
Fingerboard: full-length ebony
Made: 2004
Price includes the original hard case, seven sets of strings (La Bella, Aquila, Kurschner, and D’Addario). Shipping in the continental USA is
included in sale price. If there is anyone abroad interested, please contact me for shipping rates.
Instrument is in excellent condition with the exception of a small nick in the varnish near the bottom of the bowl. The action is very low and makes
playing comfortable. The oud’s sound is very rich. The bracing is tuned for Turkish tunings, though it sounds excellent tuned down, too.
I regret having to sell this oud. My first course of study is the Persian radif, for which I use an Arabic oud, which the longer scale both suits the
tuning and my large hands. My intention was originally to study Turkish music, as well; however, my time is limited and I’ve found I can only pursue
one course of study. I hate to have this fine instrument sit around unplayed.
