This is my first posting and must Congratulate everyone on the community formed by this forum.

I regard Nasser Shamma one of the best Oud players alive. He inspired may to return back to Oud.. the father instrument of guitar.

The link provided below is of him playing lute ***using one hand***. Taping the strings without strumming, he managed to produce greatly formed piece.

The original music is from the famous "Enta Omri" sung by Umm Kulthum. Naseer decided to rename the piece as Singing Hand, Played during a show in Abu Dhabi , United Arab Emirates.

Naseer Shamma is a talented Iraqi musical, who lives in Egypt now. He is a follower of the old school of traditional music (the likes of Munir Bashir), but also a composer of modern Maqamat.

Other videos which shows great skills...

During an interview on the famous Arabic News Channel Al Jazeera... Naseer chats to the presenter about the piece "Horses Dance"...decribing it as (pictorial music).

I've been to one of his solo preformances... He played a piece called Happened At Al Ameria...Al Ameria is a place in Baghdad which a shelter was bombed killing all in it (including Men, Women and Children). Needless to say, the audience were in tears! The piece I regard it as one of his (pictorial music).
