#5 Jabakji score & mp3: Samaii Houzam M. Abdel Wahab

ALAMI - 2-1-2007 at 02:32 PM

Another classic in the pure Abdelwahab style, starts houzam and ends in a waltz (it wasn't yet called Fusion !)

A few years ago, Ziad Al Rahbani was accused by a presnter that he was "disfiguring" oriental music by mixing it with jazz, his answer was that the same was said to Abdelwahab when he composed "Nehna wel Amar Jiran" (our neighbour:the moon), nowadays it is considered a classic arabic song

The mp3

Many thanks for posting the score and recording! You have good taste!

Just out of curiosity, who is player on the recording?

ALAMI - 2-1-2007 at 11:35 PM

The player is Abdul Rahman Jabakji himself, he used to sell these tapes with his oud method, Jabakji passed away few years ago, he was a great oud player and teacher from Aleppo, he was the teacher of Rabih Abou Khalil

Easy, a signed copy of your first oud CD.

Zalzal promised to talk to saint Peter, I'll get a nice job up there: I'll be an oud player and evil oud players will be forced to hear my playing for eternity as punishment
