Hi Folks,
I am wondering if anyone has sheet music for the Arabic bayati (?) sama'i that I frequently hear played as a dulab.
One example of this instrumental piece is #2 on Sabah Fakhri's "Mawawil & Mouwachahat" recording.
I have written out the ending phase, since many of you will probably recognize it.
I could transcribe it myself, but don't want to do it if it has already been done.
I would love any info about who wrote it, when, where, etc.

I think you're talking about the Samai Bayati al-Aryan . . . I have it, but my computer crashed (long story) and all my charts are (temporarily, i
hope) unavailable. A lot of people have it. It's probably on Issa Boulos' archive.

Hi Brian,
Damn! I think you're right. I actually checked the archive before I posted and looked over that "Sama'i Bayati al-Aryan" but didn't recognize the
melody. Taking a second look, the section I wrote out it starts at the last 3 beats of bar #9.

Duh!
Thanks,
