I don't think Amos posted anything here, so I thought I'd let the NY oud forum members know that his group, Okbari will be doing two shows in Brooklyn
this week.
Amos and Eric played with and learned from Al Gardner Bardezbanian, whom many of you know was a wonderful oud player.
Okbari will be performing in Brooklyn on May 30th at Pete's Candy Store {109 Lorimer St at 10pm} and on the 31st at Cafe Grumpy {193 Meserole Ave at
7pm}. We {Amos Libby - oud, vocals and Eric LaPerna - darbuka and riqq} will be playing traditional Armenian and Turkish music that our teacher, the
late Oud Master Alan Shavarsh Bardezbanian taught us. We'll play some Arabic songs as well.

Pete's has good beer and a cool vibe.
Grumpy's espresso and coffee have been featured in the New York Times, Time Out, New York magazine, Fodor's, and Imbibe magazine. They have some good
beer too.
