I was at a cousin's house last week installing some cabinet doors I had made for him. First of all, the cabinets were filled with records. The man has
a huge collection of jazz, rock, classical (including two copies of the original White album) among others. A real child of the 60's and 70's. (I grew
up on all this music too, my dad was into every type of music from Um Kulthoum to Santana--and we probably listened to more music than TV) So I was
drilling some holes for the hinges when this really ratty binder got in my way. This thing looked like it had been through both World Wars, a washing
machine, run over by a dump truck, etc. etc. So I grabbed it to move it out of the way and when I saw the labels were in Arabic, I took a much closer
look. Well, it turned out these albums HAD been through two world wars! Well, almost. I think these are from the 20's and perhaps earlier. Maybe
someone can shed some light on these artists. I've only heard of Laura Dedache. I didn't bother to tweak the audio on these or remove the pops or
hiss, since the quality isn't so great anyway.

Hey guys,
Nice find, man. I don't know if I shared this site with you all before or not, but here's a site that this guy has where he posted all of these
records that he has of old Arabic music, including a recording of an artist labeled as "Semi Sheheen," which someone on another forum suggested might
be Simon Shaheen when he was much younger.
Old Records
Enjoy,

Sorry these aren't better quality fellas.
Nice site TP. I have a few of these albums from my grandfather's old collection!
That's not Simon Shaheen. He would have been an infant in the 50's.
