Hello guys. What do you guys think of oud capoing. Is it done all the time? How often is it done? Can you use a guitar capo for the oud? Thanks.

Hi
Kyser (musical equipment brand) make a a very good Capo that use for acoustic and electric guitar. It also can be use for Oud but I hasnt come up with
anybody who use this yet so I cant comment anything regarding this matter.
Guitarist use Capo to make it easier on holding such chords and also to simplify them-do we need it on the oud?

I use a capo on the guitar especialy if I
need a chord which the capo will make easier for me to play,or when I need
specific notes that I want sound openly
(just by hiting the string, without touching
the fretboard).I believe that someone can find a use for capo on the oud.
The best way to find out is experimentation!!!so Just play and see and if you discover something interesting please share it with us!!!!!)
Goo Luck ,regards

Hello fine people
I do use capo most of the time, since I play hymns and songs in the church - people vary in their voice levels so I use it to suit instead of changing
my notes.
I guess nothing wrong with that.
Cheers
