Hello guys. What do you guys think of oud capoing. Is it done all the time? How often is it done? Can you use a guitar capo for the oud? Thanks.

Hi

Kyser (musical equipment brand) make a a very good Capo that use for acoustic and electric guitar. It also can be use for Oud but I hasnt come up with anybody who use this yet so I cant comment anything regarding this matter.

Guitarist use Capo to make it easier on holding such chords and also to simplify them-do we need it on the oud?

I use a capo on the guitar especialy if I
need a chord which the capo will make easier for me to play,or when I need
specific notes that I want sound openly
(just by hiting the string, without touching
the fretboard).I believe that someone can find a use for capo on the oud.
The best way to find out is experimentation!!!so Just play and see and if you discover something interesting please share it with us!!!!!:)):D

Capo

Hello fine people

I do use capo most of the time, since I play hymns and songs in the church - people vary in their voice levels so I use it to suit instead of changing my notes.

I guess nothing wrong with that.

Cheers
