I am new to oud playing and own a beautiful Turkish out puchased in Istanbul, but I want that deep earthy tone of an Egyptian oud. I heard a Shehata
recently and loved its sound and physical beauty. CAn someone tell me what differences there would be in the bowl woods: palisander, from walnut,
etc. Does anyone have a new one available or in stock now? What does anyone think about cedar tops on ouds? I am a nylon string guitar player and
cedar is used quite often to create a warmth and lushness that spruce often does not have. Thanks for the help.

Hi,
Have a look at the first oud in this sequence. It's a cedar top and one of the nicest (IMHO) I've seen from M.F. Shehata:
