Looks nice.

As far as I'm aware the phrase is kit and kaboodle i.e. EVERYTHING!

The sound table is new, strict copy of the original made by Riffaud specialist in Nahat oud, I still have the original one, too much domaged to be repaired.
All the rest of the instrument is original. 78 years old. Superb Sound.
7800 euros, the instrument is in Paris

Each instrument is unique
I understand your reaction and your comments if you have also Nahat 's to sell
The price is absolutly correct; the instrument have been fully restored, is ready for hundred more years, and the price include the instrument + the restoration.
I'm a musician probably like you are, not a merchant, I sell my Nahat only because
the Dilruba takes all my time since years, and I want this superb oud to be played.
Are your instruments in good conditions like mine ?
Respectfully

Hi all!!
By the way I think is very expensive for a Nahat and very very very expensive for a Nahat without its original sound table!! I think that there is too many speculation in the oud world with the old ouds, particularly in Europe and USA.

Nahat 1929 Price

Mad Sheer Khan - 10-11-2007 at 04:38 AM

Hi,

After talking with different expert, I realize that the price was not right,
the price should be 3000 euros.

Hi Mad,

oops, small mistake .......... from 7800 euros to 3000 euros. Not even close to "1"% to the price you mentioned .... !

Hi Dubaï244

It's not a mistake, my Nahat has a superb sound, and the price that was first asked is the right price for me. A Persian poete has said " I prefer a good wine in a wood cup than some vinegar in a cup made of gold".Sound is the most important for me. My oud has no decorations but a magnificent sound. I change my mind just because of the reality of a market that i discovered. I am a musician, not a businessman.
The sound table has been made by "Le point d'Accroche". They are the persons in charge of the restoration of the old instruments de musique for "La Cité de la Musique de la Villette" in Paris.
They work with museums and are known for the good work they do.
I give you 1% of my respect for what you said.

dubai244 - 10-12-2007 at 10:40 AM

Hi Mad,

Thanks for the 1% respect. I really mean it...

I would like to tell you some thing, first of all, good luck with your oud selling. Second thing, Each maker in this world, when he make some thing, you will see his "Finger Print" in this creation. Example, if i see orignal Moh.Fadel ouds, either can be in Paris or in alaska ... i will still see his touch and his finishing in his work.

I have seen about 9 orignal Moh.Fadel ouds in my life, all of them has about 30% different in desgin from each other, But i sill can see his Finishing, His curves, his size of holes in the face, the pulish he use, the action he use, the thickness of the neck when you hold it, the round shape of the face of the oud has a certin pattern...........etc

You can compare all Nahat oud pictures in this forum to what you sent there earlier, and you will see what i mean.

I think now, your respect to me down graded to 0.5% .......

Thanks

Mad Sheer Khan - 10-12-2007 at 03:04 PM

Others understood what is invisible in your eyes and ears, the ud is sold, thank you.
While speaking about ud maker, you show little respect for Hana Nahat and the 78 years full of life & music memories inside this wonderfull instrument.
Appearance is not all
You should take the Al Farabi advice:
"Not to confuse the power of love and the love of power..."
(what you have done, spending your time with me...)

" Si les gens qui disent du mal de moi savait ce que je pense d'eux, ils en diraient encore plus..."

paulO - 10-12-2007 at 05:08 PM

With all due respect.....

Well. I guess that proves the oud was worth 3000 euros.
Also worth checking out is:

http://www.lepointdaccroche.com/?Les_Instruments:Fabrication:Luth_O...
the folks that built a new top for the Nahat.

They charge 3500 for a new oud...so I guess 3000 isn't that out of line.....

Cordially...PaulO

dubai244 - 10-12-2007 at 11:40 PM

Hi Mad,

Good for you that you sold the oud and i feel really sorry for the person who bought it. I am not talking about the prise of the oud, if it is orginal, it will worth 3000 euros but i dont believe that is Nahat oud.

Any way Good luck with new owner, i wish him happy play with his new oud.

I dont speak french by the way ........

Thanks

Hi PaulO

I would like to thank you for your message, if you want to listen to the Hana Nahat 1929, I recorded it in "Algerian Night" which is a song from "1001 Nights" ( Warner Classic/ Erato 1999). Distributed by Atlantic/ Elektra Assylum in your country, you might find it in Itune just to listen to.
A record which has prestigious guests like Alla & Subramaniam + 7 voices from Iran, Navaros, Algeria, Israel, Tibet, Mali, India and the famous Plovdiv Chamber Orchestra from Bulgaria.

With all due respect
