Hy there,
can you all give me some oud cd titles, i need something rather simple that i can listen and sort of play along to.
So nothing uber-virtuoso, maybe more songs than taqsims, i don't know.
To give you an idea, if you where to start learning the electric guitar i wouldn't advise to play along to joe satriani, but rather something like
old school clapton, with nice but quite basic blues licks.
Is the point clear?
I know this may sound dull, but also some player wich is quite fond of D tonic would be apreciated.
Thanks a lot.

Hi fortors- I don't know if there is a CD out there of easy oud playing, but one CD that I'd recommend is "Taqsim Oud" by Riyad Al Sunbati. No matter
what your level of playing I think you'd find this CD like a reference book of great down to earth no-frills oud solos by a master player. One nice
thing is that if you use Arabic C tuning, you can try playing along. Using a guitar analogy, I'd say he's not a Steve Vai or Joe Satriani, but more
like a BB King of the oud; all tasteful and excellent taqsims in various maqams played with lots of soul.

Bil Afrah by Ziad Rahbani.
Not too much oud, but easy to identify the melody and fun to play along with these typical simpler tunes.
Said Salam Plays Oud.
The oud player from Bil Afrah doing a solo CD with some percussion and taqasims.

thanks for the answers, and keep them coming!
I've checked amazon, and they don't seem to host any of the players you mentioned, where's the best place to buy this kind of music on the net?
Thanks
