I just saw a performance in Rossland B.C. Canada of Gord Grdina trio, they are actually a modern jazz trio, Guitar, Oud, Stand up bass, and Drums, the
jazz was interesting, but what I really liked was Gords original compositions on oud, sort of arabic jazz fusion very tastefully done, his playing
was very good ,wonder ful talking back and forth with the bass and drums also. He also will be opening with the Persian group Sangha , for Simon
Shaheen ( maybe a collaboration?)at Capilano college, Vancouver, this month. Should be a concert well worth going to!

Gord is a terrific musician, anyone in BC should check him out. He always has stellar musicians playing with him, too. Neal Dhillon is a great
saxophonist and tabla (indian) player that plays with him, and he also works with some excellent Persian musicians.
