[Saz/Baglama] Strings?

lordsme - 1-9-2008 at 02:47 PM

Hi everyone,
I did not know where to ask on the net about how to find the best baglama strings, so I thought I could post here. Hope it's not against forum rules.

By the way, my baglama "vibrating length" is 78,7 cm and it is tuned DGC , from the smallest course to the biggest. I'm not sure of the string measure but the turkish seller told me these measurements (all courses are in unison, no octaves):

D - 0,20mm

G - 0,30mm

C - 0,65mm

Do you think these sizes are correct?
And if they are, what are the best strings, in your opinion?
And where can I buy them? I'm from Italy, so I think I'll have to buy them on the net.

Thank you guys!

Davide
