Nazih Ghadban Oud for Sale

s3cr3t3 - 1-12-2008 at 12:47 PM

I'm selling one of my Ghadban ouds, I 'm moving and I can only take one.
This one is a great oud and it hurts to part with it.

Model number: 942
Made: 7/5/2002
This qualifies as a mid size oud, not the huge bowl type.
French varnish, multi wood sound hole decorations
fiberglass fretboard (never will wear or have problems)
beautiful back of bowl made with multiple wood type ribs
Very nice clean sound, great action, could use new strings , may ship without strings.
I have as an option a fitted fiberglass hard case that works with this Oud for an
extra $125.00 , Shipping will be by USPS Priority or Fedex
(your choice as you pay cost). I'm selling this beautiful instrument for $1200.00 0/b

BTW: I also have a unique, in pristine condition Persian Barbat
from one of the top Iranian luthiers. Try getting one of this quality even if you go to Tehran.
Mulberry would as used in Setars, give it a unique deep sound with good tone projection.
I am considering selling it , if interested let me know and I will
post pictures

Oud Junkie, I think you mean there are a few scratches at the bottom of the oud where the ribs meet
(as shown in the picture), yes that is true. The scratches were there when I bought the Oud 2 years
ago. I have taken very good care of it since then, it is always kept in a hard case, and maintained well.
But this oud gets a lot of playing time, I enjoy playing it very much so even though I have other ouds
I always end up playing this one.

The scratches you see are superficial and minor, just on the varnish. I can post other pictures of that
area if it's a concern to anyone. They could be sanded down with very fine sand paper for French varnish finish (I think). It does not detract the quality and playability of this oud.

To the off line message I received:

Yes, I will consider offers. To include the hard shell case in the
price is also possible.

I prefer to sell this oud here to someone who will play it and take good care of it, than to sell it on Ebay, unless I have to .

No, I don't have a spare set of strings to put on it now, but you
can easily buy a set of Pyramid strings online. Many local music stores carry LaBella Oud strings also

thanks

Based on the comments I have received on U2U and other ouds
listed on this site, I have decided to lower the price to $999 on this oud. Hope to find it a good home soon

Some measurements by request. I will consider a reasonable offer

4 cm at nut

6 cm where fretboard meets the body

61 cm from nut to bdridge

Body soundboard is aprox 35 x 50 cm about 18 - 20cm deep
