Mohammad Fadel Hussein ouds

Hello everyone,

I have some Mohammad Fadel Hussein ouds available for sale.
This first one was made in 1994, of Indian Rosewood (Sisam).

Front:

Mohammad Fadel OUD; 1995 Walnut, Beech, Lemon

The oud was made in 1995, primarily of walnut. The soundbox (of 17 ribs) is however made of 3 types of high quality wood: walnut (8 ribs), beech (5 ribs) and lemon (4 ribs)
Dimensions:
Soundbox length: 50.5cm (20.2")
Soundbox width: 40.5cm (16.2")
Soundbox depth: 20.5cm (8.2")
Fingerboard length: 21cm (8.4")
String length (from nut to bridge): 62cm (24.8")
Bridge Style: Fixed
The oud is designed to house 6 pairs of strings.

Old Vintage M. Fadel oud, 1961- Not for sale

I was initially thinking about letting this one go as well, but changed my mind after a thought !
Will keep the pics posted though since we disucssed it in particular.

OK guys, Are you READY ?!? here is the big surprise !!!

This oud dropped my jaws at first sight:
It's a very very rare and old vintage original oud by late master Mohammad Fadel Hussein.
It was made of walnut and beech, and the sound is amazingly aged, matured and full.
It was a personal gift from the late Mohammad Fadel to this oud collector (he is not an oudist by the way, and just met recently !!), so it hasn't been played a lot as I understood. A fine Iraqi luthier will do some work on its fingerboard as it is a bit high, due to aging.

The vintage is definitely a rare catch...it's so beautiful in its simplicity.

The last time I've seen such an old M. Fadel was a long time ago...
