guys, is it common in turkey playing Oud with a guitar pick? or it's Ismet Topcu special technique?

wow, this guy looks a bit like Frank Zappa and plays like Jimi...I don't think using a guitar pick on the oud is all that common but as they say there
is always an exception to every 'rule' and Ismet is just that. Nice to see him having so much fun with the oud and playing with skill and exuberance!
