Dear Teachers,
I've been fascinated with the Oud and Taquasim since my teens, but never pursued the idea of lessons until now. I live in Dallas, TX; no experience
in Oud what so ever, and would very much like to learn. I have an instrument, purchased in Lebanon that needs to be restrung and tuned; an endeavour
I'm in the process of pursuing on my own.
I can be contacted by email at: sjhaddad@gmail.com
Regards,
Sulei

Hello Sulei,
I also live in the DFW area. The closest person that I know of that teaches Oud is in Oklahoma. I should be getting my Oud in the next few days and
was considering a weekend road trip out that way if I can get in touch with them. It would at least be a day trip.
I don't have his contact info but one of his students posted a link on tribes.net. You might email his student on tribe and try to get in touch that
way.

Here is the clip of them playing on local TV. The music starts at around 6:15

Alan-TX,
I haven't checked this in a while. Thanks for the link information. Do you play the Oud? If yes, how long have you played? Could you recommend any
beginner books for complete novices?
Thanks for the links again.
Best regards,
Sulei

Alan-TX,
I just saw the news clipping...i'm blown away. The guy isn't from the Middle East, but he plays with soul from the region.
Whenever you read this clipping, shoot me an email. I'm interested in learning more about his instrument.
Best regards,
Sulei
