I listened to your hijaz composition on your space and on youtube.

it reminds me of some tarateel I know... I cant put the finger on which one though.
nizarrohana - 8-5-2008 at 09:56 AM
Hello Samir,
Thx for the comment. I never actualy think of "HIjaz" this way, but i have to say its intresting. If you do put your finger on the Tarteelah i will be

Hi Nizar and congratulations on this CD, it's beautiful and deserves to be heard more widely. Your oud has a wonderful sound - what's its story?
nizarrohana - 8-6-2008 at 09:00 AM
Thx DaveH. About my Oud, well, the back is a 1954 Gorge Hana Nahat and the front was made by the Palestenian Oud Maker Elias Jubran.

ALAMI - 8-24-2008 at 01:40 AM
Lovely music Nizar,
Deep sound, it looks modern at first glance and then you realize the second layer, the references to some traditional phrases all in a nice flow that
keeps you inside...beautiful...bravo
I was surprised to find Ahmad Kaabour's "Ya rayyeh sawb bladi", It brought back a lot of memories......
Any concert in Beirut in your plans ?
francis - 8-24-2008 at 01:56 AM
I receive the cd ordered to cdbaby a few days ago. I have listen to it many times since.
I really like it: subtil playing, deep sound without recording or mastering effects. Beautiful tunes knowingly explored.
I entirerely agree with Alami, modern at the first hearing, and later some traditionnal lines comes through...
Bravo!

Totally in your face awesome playing. Very unusual style...really...I guess you are going to Europe to be a bigger fish in a smaller pond? They love Palestinian musicians there. Best of luck to you!
