Hey everyone! After such a long hiatus I decided to have returned to the oud! I am looking for an electric one since I already have my acoustic
ones.
I have looked into the Najarian at $1300 but find this a little too steep... the Tharwat Saber is a very cheap alternative but I do not want to
sacrifice sound as well!
Does anyone have any suggestions? Please help! U2Us encouraged!

Thank you very much for your input Samer! I was actually looking at the Sukar oud. Can it be connected to an amplifier or a set of headphones? If you
would be so kind as to tell me what you think of the sound quality as well, I would deeply appreciate it!
I understand that it works on batteries as well. Is the battery life long or short?
Thanks in advance!

Hey Nadir, I just got a Sukkar electric oud today... I need to change out the strings... but I stayed home from work to be there for the post... so I
didn't have much time to mess with it before I had to leave for work (Stupid working getting in the way ouds... what's next taxes?) -- My initial
impression is pretty positive though... The strings that come with it are absolute junk... But I don't mind giving Jameel some business. The construction seems solid.. though the grooves on the nut look a little too shallow... We'll see once I get her in
tune.... Plugged into the amp and didn't hear hardly any hiss.... so that was a good sign
The biggest beef I have is that it looks like a toilet seat in it's construction... I really like the Najarian hollow body --- but it's just too
expensive.... So this was the compromise... I agree that the Saber ouds look really cheap and I haven't found anyone on the forum who will admit to
having one
I didn't get her tuned up all the way... just wanted to make sure she worked... I should be able to give a better opinion by the end of thw weekend.
electric oud

I have a najarian elec. oud and the sound is not bad--it won't ever quite sound as natural as the acoustic oud, but one item I got to help with the
sound was a Fishman pedal for nylon stringed instruments. It really made an amazing difference. and you have different variations in tone and eq. So
I recommend the Fishman pedal to help spruce up the sound and get it closer to the "real" thing. Good luck!

Sorry for my late reponse, I just did not notice your question till now.
it can be connected to an amplifier not sure about the headphone, you can ask Christian, she bought her oud from me.
it works with V6 Battery.
Regarding the sound quality, I thought it was amazing but you can ask other members that bought it from me.
Regards,
Epalmyra

Nudge nudge Christian.... the weekend is over. How is the Sukar Electric oud? I would also be curious to know what amp you are using as that is just
as important as the instrument. If you can, try out the Fishman amps as they are in my opinion the best accoustic amps. I go and lust after them once
in a while at Guitar Center <g>

Hello all- I'd like to find an electric oud along the lines of the Najaraian E-2000. It looks and sounds good, but price wise is a bit on the high
side for some of us, especially for an oud only 35-40mm deep!
Usta Haluk Eryadin was starting to make flat back electric ouds before the dear soul passed away, and I have no idea if the business is still going or
not, but the oud can still be seen on his website.
If anyone knows of a good electric oud along the lines of the E-2000 that is not as expensive, please let us know!
regards, MW

the sukkar looks interesting and not a bad price point, but id prefer an ebony fingerboard, and ideally for me id like a 13 string configuration.
Samer, can Sukkar build that?
