This is an instrument I found in a used guitar store in California. Has anyone seen anything like it? Do you think it is one-of-a-kind or part of a
tradition?
It seems to want to be tuned about a fourth or a fifth up from a Turkish tuning. Sounds nice!
Here it is resting next to a Sukar, to give you a sense of the size.
piccoloud?

nice find! - a bit like one of those "laute"-guitars, often seen on ebay germany. might sound ok using a lute tuning. looks well made - curious to
hear what it sounds like ...jaron - 12-14-2008 at 08:42 AM
here is a quick sound sample- at the end i played around a bit with ukelele-style chords and strumming - this is sloppy playing, i know, but hope it
gives a sense of the instrument...
there's a lot of fingerboard buzz... it looks like the fingerboard has been raised too high in a poorly planned repair job (maybe a conversion from
being fretted in an earlier incarnation?)billkilpatrick - 12-14-2008 at 01:49 PM
nice playing - unique sound - whatever the problems there are with buzz, you've got a very good instrument - complimenti! - billcharlie oud - 12-14-2008 at 02:32 PM
Cool , sounds like a cross between an oud and a flamenco guitar. CJohn Erlich - 12-15-2008 at 09:20 AM

Looks like a "Nuevo Cristiano" converted back to the faith of the Moros!
