Hello All
does anybody know this Oudmaker?
Ahmed Abd El Haliem / Cairo
I think about to buy this Oud, the asked price is 180€.
Surely its not a high-class oud ,but even if I just need another one to carrying around in freezin`germany, it should soun acceptable!!
The Oud is built in 1988 and after a dropdown restored in 1999.
So, what do you think, oudies, worth buy it???
Regards from good (c)old germany

i see this soundboard before...i think its for "bayt al oud" oud's house !
u can buy it less than 180 !! maybe 120 enough for it .

Well.. I don't recognize the maker.. but the provided picture isn't enough to judge it..
Anyway.. taking a first look at it.. it doesn't look like it's worth 180 euros..
But as an advice.. don't buy restored ouds..

Hi Marcus!
I agree with Reda that it is very difficult to judge both maker and quality from this one picture. You need closer look at least at pigbox, sadle (is
that what you call it in english!?)...
But if you are really thinking of bying it because of the cold, then my advise would be to bye a softcase from Jameel (Khalaf?) instead! I live much
longer north than you do :-)
and I have been using it i up to -10 dgrees, and the tuning on the Oud did not even change!! It provides good isolation.
Best of luck.

ok it deff is a ahmed abdul halim oud. i have the same one but mine is black bowl with white ribs and others.
the earlyer the oud made the beter it is. This company been building for years and in the beginning it was really good. some sound amazing and
some dont. thank god mine sounds amazing, but it is old. its the same oud made for Ahmed Qassim yemeni/ adani oudist.
is a hit or miss oud. some times you have great sound and sometimes you dont, i have 2 of them and both very nice sound for the money.

hello friend,
I do not know the oud maker, but the style looks egytian, personnaly I would not hesitate to buy it for a single second, I bought many ouds at higher
prices but I was often disappointed, recently I borrowed one made in Syria in 1954, It looks like the one you arte talking of, to tell you the truth I
do not want to give it back to his owner, a friend, so we are negotiating a price( 600 or 800 euros), I repeat if i were you I would niot
hesitate......Wahid
