Hello everybody..
thanks to some of you I just got to know that the "buzzing" problem that I find in some turkish ouds may depend on the kind of strings and on the
tuning, since I usually tune (from the smallest) C G D A G C, while it seems then turkish people start to tune from D. Isn'it?
As I wrote in another post, I am going to istanbul to get a new oud, and I wonder if I didn't choose the wrong place!!
On Oud I play basically my own compositions, and I can't renounce to my arabic tuning (I need very deep lows).
I am going to turkey because as far as I know turkish ouds have a "softer" sound than arabic ones (and this is what I am looking for, deep and soft
sound), but will I find a turkish oud that will work with arabic tuning?????
Another thing: I usually use LA BELLA strings and I think they are made for arabic oud (with longer diapason)\ should I try different strings made for
turkish ouds (with shorter diapason)? WHich brand?
Thank you very much!
