in search of a very good Saz

PeppeOud - 3-18-2009 at 07:41 AM

Hi, i'm in search of a professional saz baglama - size (i could be interesed in both long and short-necked). Can you suggest me some good turkish makers to get in touch with? Unfortunately i can't afford a trip and an instrument togheter so i need someone who can send the instrument outside turkey.
Thanks

Peppe

hi guys

that s hard to answer question cos there are so many good makers in turkey and most of them ship out of turkey when comes down to chosing a maker it s all about your buget and how much u are willing to spend and wait for your instrument assuming that u are looking for something nice not so decorated with MOP and so on i would recomend you http://www.onarmuzik.com/ mr safak turan s a good quality saz maker and they build good quality nice instruments at affordble prices i recomend u cantact them but on the the other hand if u want something really top knotch and expensive and willing to wait for it i would recomend http://www.kopuzsazevi.com/ in my personal opinion kopuz saz evi mr kemal eroglu he s the best baglama maker in and out of turkey

i also added some videos for so u can get the idea what kind of work these masters do

Check out Kemal Eroglu's myspace page. He has audio clips of his six string saz (6 courses that is) played by Erkan Ogur. :buttrock:
