Hi,
First of all, what a nice place is this forum
second
being a classical player for 20 years, I got the chance to buy my first oud , straight from Syria, a beginner model from Ibrahim Sukar - model 8.
The oud came with a almost dead strings which annoyes me a bit, so I decided to change it with one of the daddario j95 sets that I also ordered.
Now by reading the forum I figured out that my oud being an arabic one might be damaged by turkish tune strings J95..?
Is it this correct ( sorry for the lame question ), ...if yes, would be better to wait and order an arabic strings from pyramid?
Thanks

Hi
You can use this set on the sukar oud. You need to tune it CFAdgc.

Also check out Jameel at Khalaf Oud in the States... he is pretty much THE source for strings in NA... Welcome to the Sukkar club
Also, getting a new oud with crappy strings is a pretty commonplace thing... I have 3 sukkar ouds and they ALL came with yucky strings... it's like
they know the first thing I'm gonna do is throw them away and put good strings on... so why bother..

Hello, check out Daniel Mari strings! They are very nice I found (though not on a Sukkar). Not much risk, they are very resonably priced.

Thanks to all you
I guess I will put the d'addario set first and then order another set from khalal - I am based in Eastern Europe so shipping to Bulgaria sometimes is
tricky
Thanks
