you might like it suz , it has similar sound to baasem rizk erable double bridge oud. Actually I asked fadi why the double bridge, he said no need for it except that bassem uses very high tension strings so he put a second bridge to decrease the string tension on the soundboard

It's a wood rosette..no plastic on that oud

Really first class work on this instrument, subtle grain on the bowl and a lovely finish. Outrageously cool rosette -- enjoy it in good health !

Sure I would love it, and already in touch with Fadi about that...so not going to change my mind, to preserve Fadi from going crazy about my questions :) moreover if it doesn't alterate the sound I may use the oud sometimes with high tension and sometimes with medium tension.

The oud has a very good sustain. It's amazing how Matta's floating bridge ouds sound.. unlike any other.

Fadi made the design. I have no idea how he cut the rosette. I can ask if you want more info

What strings are on? And what will you replace them with?

it came with a krushner strings. I don't like the DD strings, too light, and the gg are a bit thick, you hear the nylon sound. The base C needs a thicker string.

When it opens up it will mature and become better and better. However, Matta Ouds usually speak and have a great deal of maturity as soon as they are born. Don't you think so Kata?

Right, depends on the player's taste and playing. And I think that as a whole, Kurschers are the most suitable for Matta's ouds, despite the inconvenients I quoted, and which are very true!
