Luthier/oud player gathering in Damascus

Has anyone heard anything about this? I was informed by one musician that one is gonna take place in two weeks or so and I'd love to pay a visit. I'll update you if I find anything out.

as Eduardo still told you, there will be a oud competition for younger players in Damascaus next week.
There are 2 groops: up to 14 and up to 18.

The jury will be:

Turkey Mohamed Bitmaz
Syria Husain Sabsaby
Iraq Nasir Shamma
Labanon Sherbil Rohana
Jordon Sakher Hatter
Oman Fathi Muhsin

Some oud makers will show instruments:

Turkey Faruk Toruns
Germany Matthias Wagner
Syria Ibrahim Sukar
Syria Fouad Haidar
Syria Ali Sabsaby
Syria Anwar Kubba
Syria Muafak Ajaj
Labenon Nazih Ghthban
Syria Mansoor Haidar

and there will be some concerts:
Sherbil Rohan, Yussif Zul Kurnain, Sakhar Hattar 6/8/2009
Talk by the Oud makers at 6pm 7/8/2009
Majid Nathem Bur, Salem Almakrishi, Joesph Towadrus 8/8/2009
Nassir Shamma, Mohammed Bemtaz, and the winners 9/8/2009

So as you could realize I'm there too. I will be there with fife different instruments by myself. So it would be great to meet you there or anyone else who want to go to Damascus.

Oh sorry Zul, that was the final program Husain Sabsaby gave me. It's a pitty that we do not meet in Damascus. I hoped we can. May be we meet somewhere else?
