La inta habibi

Abusaid - 8-18-2009 at 11:30 AM

Hi all,

It's my first time uploading a sound clip.

Well, it's just a minute and a half of the sad song "La Inta Habibi".

I would appreciate your comments.

Bonjour Eduardo.

Very nice playing and amazing sound.
I didn't know this sad song, and I like your playing here.
Do you play on your beautiful Shehata ebony oud?

Give us more clips:applause::applause::applause:

........message above incomplete!

I wanted to say that your playing in tremolos , to my opinion , is very sweet and deep.
I would master it like this!

Francis

Thanks

Dear Francis,

Thanks a lot for your nice comments.

The oud is a grand concert oud made by Mr. Faruk Turunz, with Piramid Lute Strings.

I will post something with my Shehata Ebony - Spruce as soon as posible.

Thank you again

hello Eduardo! the playing is very nice, moves along at a good pace and keeps the listener interested! ¿Hay muchos jugadores de oud cerca de usted en Chile? cheers, MW

Hi Matthew,

Thank you for your nice words. I really appreciate it.

About the oud players here, we are no more than 10, but a couple of them are very talented (obviously not me), like Tito Yarad (80 years old), he is a very good oud and violin player. I will upload something of him.

Best Regards,

Eduardo Lahsen

Hello Matthew,

Here is a taksim from Tito Yarad (80 years old oud player).

What do you think?

Hello Abusaid.

Really nice playing by Tito Yarad.......and here is a proof that we have nice years of playing to come.....
What are Tito's musical influences ( or culture ). To my ears, his playing seems particular , may be close to roots . I like this lively taskim.
Thanks for posting.

Hello Francis,

Tito Yarad is from Palestine, and he came to Chile at early age. He also is a violin player, and he has the opportunity to play with the orchestra of the famous Lebanese artist Wady El Safie, when he came to south America in the sixties (Chile, Brazil and Argentina).

Hi Abusaid

I very much like your playing, although you protest you have a magical quality to your playing, and I am determined that you should know this;)

Tito Yarad is wonderful, what a strong spirit, I particularly love the 20 seconds or so starting at 28 seconds, to my ears really unselfconscious and allowing the music to guide the sound, very passionate too.

Thanks

Leon

Hi Leon,

Wow, thank you very much for your kindness, It's more than I have expected.

And about Tito Yarad, you're right, his playing is very strong and passionate.

Best regards,

Eduardo

Tito plays with the passion and technique of a man half his age! Reminds me a bit of the style/ playing of Sunbati, though it is only a short sound clip. Are there any youtube clips of Tito?

Abusaid - 8-20-2009 at 02:51 PM

Hi Matthew,

He is not in youtube, but I'm uploading a couple of sound clips that I hope you like it.

well Leon, better ask me that when we're both 80! One encouraging thing though, after listening to Tito play, there's hope for us yet mate to really play oud by the time we are 80!:D
