Hi All,
Due to the occasional cd review I write for a local paper, I managed to get a pre-release of the new Anouar Brahem disc, The Astounding Eyes of Rita.
Bass clarinet, oud, electric bass guitar and dumbek/frame drum. I haven't listened enough times to speak really intelligently, but I'm pretty excited
about it. The compositions strike me as first rate, and while the electric bass throws me a bit, I think we're in for another classic Brahem release.
Now if we can only get him back to the states!

hey together
last week i have went to anouar brahems concert in mannheim germany and it was fantastic to see and feel the master at his work
the way he hugs his oud and the way hey express his feelings in the music is amazing
he has shown his public the way an oud should be played not make a performance but to get feeling and that has inspired me to change the way that i
was playing the oud .
it shouldn't be from the head but from the heart and this way should get you closer to your instrument and music
if anouar brahem is playing where you are you should go and see him
my regards to all
